There are seasons when it feels like everyone else is moving forward, while you’re standing still.
You watch people reach milestones, build their lives, find their place — and somewhere along the way, you begin to wonder whether you’ve been left behind.
Maybe you feel lost. Maybe you feel overlooked. Maybe you’re simply tired of trying to find your way back.
But feeling lost does not mean you have been forgotten.
In our previous journal, When You Feel Like You’re Falling Behind, we explored those moments when it feels as though everyone else is moving forward and you're somehow being left behind.
But what happens when feeling behind turns into feeling lost?
The One Who Was Missing
Jesus tells us about a shepherd who had one hundred sheep.
When one wandered away, the shepherd didn't simply count the ninety-nine that remained and carry on.
He went looking for the one.
The one mattered.
Not because it was more important than the others, but because it was still his.
That simple story carries such a powerful message for the moments when we feel distant, forgotten or alone.
God sees the one.
The one who is struggling.
The one who feels left behind.
The one who has lost their way.
The one who wonders if they still matter.
Being lost doesn't mean being forgotten.
And being outside the crowd doesn't mean you're outside of God's care.
You Are Still Seen
Sometimes being found doesn't mean everything suddenly becomes easy.
It might simply mean knowing that you don't have to find your way back alone.
We don't always know why we're walking through a particular season. We don't always understand why our journey looks different from everyone else's.
But we can still trust that God knows where we are.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You don't have to catch up.
You don't have to know exactly what comes next.
You can simply take the next step.
And trust that you are still seen.
A Reminder to Carry With You
The 99 Sheep design was created from this very message.
Ninety-nine sheep gather together, while one stands apart — a quiet reminder that the one who feels lost, overlooked or left behind still matters.
We've placed the design on two everyday pieces, so the message can become something you carry with you.
A timeless, everyday T-shirt featuring the 99 Sheep design — created as a reminder that no one is forgotten or beyond reach.
A practical everyday tote featuring the same design — a simple way to carry the message with you wherever you go.
More Than Something You Buy
At Still & Held, we believe the things we create should carry meaning beyond the product itself.
That's why every purchase has a purpose.
When you choose something from Still & Held, you're not simply buying something for yourself. Your purchase helps us give back and support people in need.
Because the message of the lost sheep isn't only about being found.
It's about recognising that every one matters.
The person who feels forgotten matters.
The person who is struggling matters.
The person who needs a little help matters.
And sometimes, a small act of kindness can remind someone that they haven't been overlooked.
If You're Feeling Lost Today
Maybe you're exactly where you hoped you'd be.
Or maybe you're nowhere near it.
Maybe you feel like you've fallen behind.
Maybe you've taken a turn you didn't expect.
Maybe you're simply tired.
Wherever you are, remember this:
You are not forgotten.
You are not too far away.
You are not invisible.
You are still seen.
You are still worth searching for.
And you are still held.
You don't need to know the whole way home.
Sometimes, you just need to take the next step.
And trust the Shepherd who knows where you are.
“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
— Luke 19:10
